Day 2 of our Las Vegas trip was interesting. Since I was in the group that went to bed early, I woke up relatively early (before my alarm went off) and I headed to the gym
WOW. The gym at the Encore is pretty awesome. All the cardio equipment have TV’s and they give you a fresh set of headphones to plug right into it. Their weight section was pretty good, too, so I decided to do a little bit of everything.
Treadmill: I started around 7.0 mph, and slowly increased, but I think it was totally off. Even when I was going 9.5 mph, I felt like I was jogging at 6.5 mph. I only did 1 mile in 7:45 for a warmup, and I’m pretty sure their treadmills need to be re-calibrated or something.
Elliptical-ish thing: 12.15 minutes, light resistance.
Weights: I did a little bit of everything for about 30 minutes (like chest, biceps, shoulders, core with stability ball)
Bike: 10 minutes, maintain over 90 rpm, and resistance from 7-10.
I was in and out in about an hour, and felt so much better after this sweaty session!
By the time everyone was washed up and ready for brunch, it was already 11:00 a.m. We headed to The Buffet at Wynn and went in for around $32 (except those smarties who got the unlimited champagne/mimosas for an extra 10 bucks. Probably the best deal here).
This was on the way to The Buffet. Going out with your hair still wet is what the cool kids are doing these days.
We were actually waiting in line for a good 30 to 40 minutes. It went pretty quickly because we were having interesting conversations.
Did I mention that I love the decorations in that buffet?
I was pretty weaksauce this morning and this plate was my only real round of food:
There is watermelon, grapefruit with some syrup (in the cup), squid ceviche, fish with teriyaki mango, roasted squash/pumpkin, and roasted potatoes with caramelized onions. I ate every single bit of it with that amazing cup of coffee.
Everyone really enjoyed the food.
After the Buffet, and me losing my phone somewhere and not being able to find it (we had a little search party re-trace the steps), we headed to the pool.
The sun was already going down, but Tammy and I tried to get as much of whatever sunlight was left
We all did a tiny bit of lounging by the pool as well.
View was pretty nice 🙂
It was actually getting pretty windy, so I headed back up to the room while the others stayed and enjoyed their drinks poolside. I’ll probably have a drink later tonight. I haven’t actually ordered my own during this trip (only having sips of everyone’s mimosas and stuff). o__O I obviously don’t belong in Vegas, huh?
I’m actually really excited about tonight. We’ll be watching KA at MGM and then eating at Thomas Keller’s restaurant!
Hope you guys are having a nice Saturday!
