I was going to go to the gym this afternoon, but since I was going to work at the clinic really close to my home, I ended up using the elliptical for one hour and watched some Daily Show with John Stewart and The Colbert Report.
It was sweaty and detoxifying. I did a ladder/pyramid workout where I keep increasing the resistance until about halfway through, and then I decrease the resistance as I near the end (up and down the “ladder”). I also pedaled forward for the first 40 minutes and backwards for the last 20 minutes.
I had two at work who are usually difficult to work with, and even though I expected them to have little meltdowns and stall a lot more, they were actually pretty good today! I left work with a big smile on my face.
Another reason to smile? The weather was perfect to walk this little one:
^This is a recycled picture, but the weather was pretty much the same. It was right around the time when there was shade everywhere, but bright enough for cars to see me.
We were out for 50 minutes and walked 2.52 miles. Vanna decided that she NEEDED to stop and smell something every 3 yards, so I had to stop a whole lot. I let her do it this time because I have been bad and only played with her in the backyard for the last couple of weeks, instead of taking her out for a little walk around the neighborhood.
Now that the rain seems to be gone and it’s still bright after I finish work, I should be able to walk her more consistently.
When we got back, I made a super weird “salad”.
I would call it a salad because it has mostly veggies: Tammy’s spaghetti squash, Korean style black beans, rotisserie chicken, asparagus, and cheese that does not melt very well (I threw everything into the microwave to see if I could mix it up).
I ended up putting Sriracha sauce all over it. Since the rotisserie chicken and black beans are pretty salty, this didn’t actually need any dressing. I’ll have to think of more ways to use the spaghetti squash. I had to freeze half of it, and I will probably go to the store to buy some pasta sauce to actually make “spaghetti”.
I want to enjoy this weather and go for a long run tomorrow morning!
WOW. Super boring post, huh? But you know what? I sometimes like boring (aka: routine).
Do you like to keep a routine or is your schedule always up in the air?
