I was planning on going to the gym for a Cycle class… but I was running a little late and I didn’t want to go in late (this is the one where they turn off the lights so the instructor would have to hand me a flashlight and everyone will be watching me adjust my seat and crap).
Confession time begins:
Yesterday was kind of a weird day for me… after finishing class around 8:30pm, I came home and decided I wanted to eat a LOT. It started off healthy enough (lots of veggies, soba noodles, and protein), and then morphed into sweet and crunchy. I basically ate until I felt super duper crappy about myself. I don’t know why I do this to myself sometimes. It’s so hard to pull myself out of that downward spiral once I feel like I’m caught in it.
Well, today is a new day. <— honestly, I’ve been waking up every day this week trying to start things fresh… only to feel like I screwed up and have to hope the next day is better. This has not been a very good week for me 😦

So since I didn’t go to the Cycle class, I was just going to dilly dally and do nothing productive, but I thought of looking up some videos from YouTube to see if I can get a good at-home workout (but not Insanity… didn’t feel like something so hardcore this morning).
I came across this Tonique video:
I did Tonique parts 2, 3, and 4 for a total of about 30 minutes and WHOA. I wasn’t expecting it to make me sweat and breathe so hard!
I used 3 pound dumbbells (because her weights looked pretty light) and even though it didn’t really work my upper body at all, I still got a sweatastic workout!
They like to do 30 reps of a lot of the moves, meaning it is good for endurance and cardio. It also means you’ll be doing HUNDREDS of lunges on EACH leg! When it got to part 3 or 4, it was basically all lunges and lunge variations. OH, MY GARSH. Stupid quads and butt were whining in the most annoying way.
I’m happy to say that I got a great workout for FREE! Now I’m so curious and want to find other cool exercise videos on YouTube!
Lunch: 1 cup soba noodles, 1 cup broccoli, 1/2 cup marinated black beans, one perfect egg, 2 tbsp hummus dressing… and in a bowl that is too small for this meal, haha.
