Up at 5:30 a.m.
OMG, my second Saturday waking up insanely early… but it’s all good.
I can tell there are some awesome things about to happen, my friends. I actually slept through the night! That’s a race day first!
Race starts at 7:30 a.m. Hope to be done running before before 10 a.m.
I’m loaded up with carbs to the max capacity.
Garmin and Sansa Fuze are charged. Got a GU and PowerBar gel (<—except it’s super watery and I probably won’t use it since… I’ve never actually tried it before. It’s just a back-up. There should be plenty on the course).
It’s on, mang. My thunder thighs and I’s gonna beast.
Last night, I dragged my brother Michael along to get my race packet at the Sports Basement. Do you see that tall Asian guy grabbing snacks on the left? Yup. I’m kind of glad they had pizza and chocolates so that he can be fed.
I grabbed dinner #1 here:
Who said Costco pizza and 5 servings of chocolates are not good pre-racing fuel?
Umm, whoa. I have no idea how all of these ended up in my bag.
Actually, I lied. The lady who gave me my bib said I could take as many as I wanted. I didn’t though… because if I took as many as I wanted, that would have meant running out with the entire box and I’m pretty sure they frown upon that kind of thing.
Their shirts are so cute! I can’t wait to wear it on Sunday!
We stopped by at Hankook Market so I could stock up on some essential carbo-loading food… Korean rice cake (dduck). Boom. Dinner #2.
I got this weird one with green leaves all over it. I think it’s what they use to make the other green rice cakes, but this one just had them on top and not ground up. Interesting, but now my fave.
The one on the left has got to be my favorite (the more beans, squash, raisins, etc… the better). I like the one in the middle, too.
In the snack aisle, this made me do a double take:
Not what I thought it said at first, but still funny, hehe (and yes, this blog has been taken over by a 12-year-old).
The rest of the night was spent in a massage chair watching game 6 of Clippers v. Grizzlies.
I also had to do a good amount of rolling out my stupid thighs because somebody decided to do an insane amount of cardio yesterday and was sore all day. Somebody…
… so stupid.
Haha, I joke. It’ll be fine today.
Please pray for me! Pray that I stayed strong and raced hard!
I’ll be updating later tonight with the result!
The younger sisters also have a special surprise for the older sisters of our church. They’re coming over to my place this afternoon… so I gotta do a mad quick clean up before they come 😛
Have a wonderful Saturday, everyone!
If you raced today, let me know how it went!
