Yesterday was so lovely!
I love Sundays because I get to be with my church family 🙂
^There are some super talented people in the Campbell UMC congregation and they are always decorating and making the sanctuary so beautiful. This was a huge banner that we get to see when we walk in. I loves it.
After service and lunch, some of us walked to Starbucks for something cold to drink. It was such a lovely walk!
Then it was time for me to sit on my butt and spectate as people played volleyball.
My boy’s got some hops:
Who knew? He can still jump 🙂
I left around 5:00pm and got in a quick treadmill workout:
5.5 miles running and 0.5 mile walking for a total of 6.0 miles in 54 minutes. I took it easy again and kept the pace super easy. I’ll need to take this run on the road soon… but I’ve been wimping out and avoiding the heat.
I quickly showered and went to a Korea spa that my mom’s friend owns (jjimjihlbang) to get a facial. It has been forever and a day since I have gotten some skin care from Linda.
Once upon a time, I used to have super nice skin:
^This picture is from Susan’s Bachelorette Party. Now I know the flash probably helps with wiping away possible signs of acne (and my NOSE), but I really did have much clearer skin. Also, I’m pretty sure it’s one of the girliest days of my life. My hair was spectacularly curly and voluminous. I kind of loved it (but I can only pull out one of those days like once a year, haha).
Now? Well I’m guessing my extravagant love of sweets has ruined my skin (or so Linda says)? I’m sure being out in the sun with several layers of sunblock and sweating profusely has also caused me to break out like MAD.
These are some of the products I use regularly (but I don’t care most of the time and will use whatever happens to be in the bathroom). I’m now realizing that I should care more…
I do what I can to take care of my skin, but I’m pretty sure if I cut down on my chocolate and peanut butter consumption, it can do some good for my skin.
So let’s see how things go if I cut down on my sugar (operative words being “cut down”… not “cut out“). It’s like when I go to the dentist and I want to keep my teeth super clean. Getting a facial makes me think about my skin and I’ll probably try to keep it clean for like a month.
… What did I teach you about skin care? Nothing… because I’m bad at it, haha. I will check in after a couple of months to see if anything changes.
This week is quite exciting! I’ll be moving in to my SFSU place on Thursday and then going to Las Vegas! WOO HOO!
Until then, I’ll try hard to keep a good routine of eating clean and working out so I can enjoy Vegas a bit.
Question: Do you think there is a big correlation between your skin breaking out and the foods you eat?
Have a blessed week, everyone!
