3.5 Hours

Hey. I had about 3.5 hours of sleep last night. Weird.

I woke up around 2am and couldn’t fall back asleep for a couple hours. Then after about 90 minutes more of sleep, I woke up again. I decided to finally use my Living Social voucher for a hot yoga studio in San Francisco. I went to the 7:30am Power Yoga class and it was great!

But first, I made a pumpkin banana protein pancake:

I didn’t get too crazy and used half the batter (one scoop of protein, 1/2 cup pumpkin, one large banana, and two eggs). I was able to flip it and keep it pretty much in one piece.

So back to the hot yoga. The temperature was probably around 100 degrees Fahrenheit because the instructor said it’s turned on in the morning and doesn’t heat up quite as much as later in the day.

We went through many flows (compared to the usual Bikram yoga where there are 26 postures that are held over 90 minutes). I really liked that this one kept me moving and worked my core and balance a bunch.

I really want to be able to do those balance postures where only my hands are planted on the ground and everything else is resting on my arms or legs are in the air somewhere. Not gonna be easy, but it would be so cool to be able to do it!

Around 10 minutes, I was wondering why I wasn’t sweating much. A couple seconds later, I was drenched from head to foot. Garsh. Beads of sweat forming on every pore of your body?

Came back home and prepared the other half of the batter of my pumpkin banana protein pancake. I decided to throw in some more upper body work this morning, too.

Building up to pull-ups, Phase 3.

Set 1 and 2: 1 pull-up, 1 chin-up, 6 walk-the-planks.

Set 2 through 5:  2 chin-ups, 6 walk-the-planks.

I can’t believe I can do two chin-ups (palms facing in) in a row!! I still can’t do two pull-ups in a row, but at least I can do one :D. PROGRESS!

Then I did 4 sets of 15 push-ups (this went down. I apparently have no pecs or I’m just super tired after the pull-up workout). Finished with about 7 minutes of burnouts.

You know how I was talking about running 12 miles yesterday? Apparently, my body disagreed. Makes sense since I did a pretty intense workout on Tuesday.

So yesterday was a complete rest day. Will I get in some running today? Probably not. I won’t feel too bad about it since I did this Bikram power yoga AND my usual upper body workout 🙂

I’m finding that I have way too much time as it gets closer to my finals. o__O Strange.

If you see me on Facebook playing myVegas all the time, don’t judge. We’re planning a Vegas trip, so I’m trying to rack up hella points.

To be honest, I have been super inconsistent with my daily devotions. I’m going to do it right now and try to get back into doing it every morning.

Hope you have a wonderful Thursday!
