Did you know my Olympus Tough camera is waterproof?
Here is proof:
So is my camera cooler than yours? Also, I can drop this camera and it won’t shatter into pieces… which is great for me because I’m a butterfingered klutz.
Michael and I played just a little bit in between laying out in the sun and getting to a nice brownish-gold color. Actually, I think all we did was boil in our own sweat. It was insanely hot!
Anyways, here are some pictures in my $3 bikini:
The pool area’s pretty nice, but it was kind of crowded. Apparently, it gets even more crowded and we came on a non-busy day.
Now here are some pictures with strategic-ish lighting:
THUNDER. THIGHS. THUNDER THIGHS.
And I was pretty bloated because we ate at Hash House in Harrah’s Casino before:
I got the Roasted Chicken Hash… which is pretty much roasted chicken and asparagus mixed up with those crispy potatoes. Pretty sure it was deep-fried? Or heavily friend… and heavily seasoned. Super salty!
The gigantic biscuit with some poached eggs was pretty yummy. Oh, and the jam business (peach? apricot? We couldn’t tell).
Yesterday’s workout was a very tiring 7 mile run (63 minutes). I also did “3 miles” on the elliptical. I did sort of ten miles. I didn’t really understand why these workouts were so difficult until I looked up the elevation above sea level. If San Jose is at/around sea level, Reno is anywhere from 4500 to 5000 ft above sea level.
I’ll blame my extremely slow speed on that. Hehe.
Either way, I had a nice stretch and ab burnout after the cardio:
So after an incredibly active day, what did we do? We ate until our bellies got angry with us. Sushi Pier is one of our favorite all-you-can-eat sushi spots. They were kind of short-staffed, but that allowed us to pace ourselves.
Remember, people. One order of nigiri= two pieces. Sometimes, it’s easy to forget that in the second round. We went a little order-happy the second time through and really had to power through and help each other out to finish every piece!
^The quail egg tobiko ones are my FAVORITE. And you can order them with brown rice (though some will claim that it’s not longer “real sushi” to which I’ll say… “Shush”).
^The BBQ’d tuna is also mighty delish!
And here are some other ones:
We were all waddling around all evening.
Though I try to make good choices for the most part, it’s okay to indulge once in a while and also eat some tortilla chips with awesome peach mango salsa (happened late last night, hehe). Just as long as I don’t make this a daily occurrence, I think I can still meet my summer goals. I’m pretty sure if I get REALLY close to a six pack (which I doubt, haha), then I wouldn’t be able to… but for now, I want to say it’s FIIIINE.

What is your mindset during a little getaway? Just relax and be free to indulge? Or do you still try to get your workouts in?
