Something Old, Something New

Joe and I went to Pampas, a Brazilian barbecue place in Palo Alto. It had a lot of great reviews on Yelp, and Joe and I have wanted to try it, so off we went!

Pampas has a great salad bar area with lots of great choices!

This is where I let them “win”… by filling up on veggies, haha. Oh, well. I can’t eat that much meat anyways. That was my first plate.

Joseph was really smart about the salad bar selection and filled up on the different types of meat!

Second plate… whoops, got too much again!

Over all, I ate too much (obviously). It was a good experience, though! It was fun when the guys came around and offered a cut of meat. I tried almost everything (except the lamb).

After dinner, there was a perfect amount of time to go to Philz Coffee, which was one block away. I got a decaf Sumatra, and Joe got an iced Silken Splendor. We also ate one of their fruitful bars. Soooo yummy!

After dinner, Joe and I watched Mulan. Yeah. Reminiscent of our childhood days. That movie is hilarious!

Both of our top three Disney movies from our childhood:

1. Aladdin

2. Beauty and the Beast

3. Lion King

This morning, I went to Fremont Older Open Space Preserve and did some trail running. I had to keep it to an easy effort because it was super hot (I got out there at 8:30 am and it was already in the mid-70’s, and climbing fast!).

I wanted to do 2 hours… and I completed 10.5 miles of trail running (and hiking on the steep uphills) in 1:59. Perfect 🙂

Aaaaaand…. I felt great after the run, and even better after the shower!

There is no shower that feels better than the one right after a sweaty trail run. The mix of layers of sunblock, perspiration, and dirt coming off while washing up… THE BEST.

^I just have to find out how to get rid of that under-eye baggy business.

I feel very blessed. Yesterday, I had such an incredible day of working with the students. I worked with a couple who usually act up and distract themselves and can’t sit still… but yesterday, they not only stayed focused, but we were cracking up and having so much fun during the session! 😀

Kids are soooooo funny.

Feeling excited and happy about going in to work… I know that’s a big humongous blessing. Thank you, Jesus 🙂

Do you love your job (for all of its joys and challenges)?

Favorite Disney movie from the 80’s or 90’s?
