… Or more like fall on my back.
I tripped again. And I kind of did a roll maneuver and ended up on my back. The only thing that came out as a serious ouchie is my hand.
^(Anyone else a floor-sitter? I love sitting on the floor, for some reason. Drink my tea and read the Bible. It’s like sitting at the feet of Jesus, I guess).
Going back to the deep scrape… it super sucks when I’m writing. Anywho, this is the second time I tripped while running this year… but last time, I hecka tripped. It was way worse.
So during that run, I just did an easy 8-miler (Thursday), and I tripped at the turn-around.
Friday, I went out for what was supposed to be an easy 5 or so miles (taking my new Camelbak for a test run). It felt so good that I ended up running more. A lot more than 5.
The weather was so lovely, the colors of the leaves in the trees were so pretty… and I was running at my old stomping grounds (Los Gatos Creek Trail). The first 6 miles were run super easy (tried to go for 9:15), and the run back was run at marathon race pace (8:15). I realized that I need to really watch the pace because it was easy for me to run faster than the marathon pace I need for a PR.
Oh, yeah. I’m running the Malibu Marathon next Sunday. I’m not sure if I’m going to PR, and I don’t mind too much if I don’t… but wouldn’t it be nice? Definitely not putting pressure on myself like that time (except pressure to keep it pretty slow for the first half).
11 miles in 1:35. Negative split, but nothing too exciting.
Then Yesterday, I did an easy 8 miles (73 minutes) on the treadmill. Even though the weather was perfect for a run, I think my joints had enough contact with the concrete from the last several runs.
I was listening to Christmas music on Pandora during the whole run. Too soon?
Got the greatest news yesterday. Joe’s uncle Jay ran his first 10K (yesterday?)!!! Congrats! I can’t wait to ask him all about it the next time I see him. And then we’ll discuss the game plan for a half marathon…. or one day, the full marathon.
Whoa. (o__O ) we’ll slowly turn the whole family into endorphin-craving running addicts!
11 miles to start the 11th month of the year is always nice. HAPPY NOVEMBER 😀
It is Daylight savings day, meaning it will be easier to wake up in the morning, but more spooky when I walk home from class in the evening.
Any big November plans (assuming that Thanksgiving is a given)?
Do you wear any rings? (I always wear a gold one, that my mom gave me, on my right middle finger … which was a custom made ring created by my aunt)
