Easy steps to having a perfect weekend:
Long easy run with the Running Addicts!
(10 miles done before 9am. It’s awesome!).
And then hang out with a close friend and her super cute little girl:
Here’s Eliyah 🙂
And Eliyah with Susan:
She is so smart and funny (can apply to either girl, hehe). Eliyah was showing us her awesome chopping skills, as well as her knowledge of the names of fruits and veggies:
And Eliyah took my camera and took some pictures of her own.
^Didn’t realize that she actually got all of us in this one, haha.
These two are so fun to hang out with!
And it’s so great to watch her grow up. She is incredibly blessed with a Spirit-filled family. Eliyah is going to be a strong woman of God!
Oh, also, Susan made me an awesome omelette and bagel brunch. Perfect to devour after a run:
Then I went to Joe’s and we hung out watching games and anime… and ate a bunch of curry:
Then for dinner, we went to Trader Joe’s and picked up some food to make and eat at home.
^I picked up my salad fix-ins, and also a sweet potato gnocchi from the frozen food section. It is really good, but that’s also because there is a good about of butter that comes with it. Well, I guess if it’s got a whole bunch of butter, it’s going to taste amazeballs (yeah. It makes me want to say stuff like “amazeballs”).
After a little more time, we went to Yogurtland for some fro-yo:
^pumpkin pie fro-yo, plain, and a bit of the salted caramel one. The flavored ones are pretty sweet, so you definitely need some of the plain tart. Oh, and it’s topped with sweet red beans, mochi, and almonds. YUM, friendo.
Sunday morning was a long-ish non-running workout. 37 minutes of the Reebok weighted ball dvd, 15 minutes of AbripperX, and 60 minutes on the elliptical.
Then our church service was awesome because we welcomed in many people into the family of God with baptism, confirmation, and member transfers:
It was a beautiful celebration! It’s always great when I gain a whole bunch of brothers and sisters into my family. Now that they’re my siblings, they’re forced to be my friends, harhar.
We celebrated once more on Sunday evening with a birthday celebration for three of our college boys!
Tammy graciously opened her place for the party, and we definitely took over and had our fill of a wide range of foods:
^You can’t see everything, but there was pizza, mussels, roasted eggplants, eggrolls, chow fun, fried rice, fried chicken breasts, carrot soup, ham, bread&brie&fig jam, roasted kabocha… and many more.
^Also, our three birthday boys are sitting at the end of the table: James, Joseph, Arthur.
Thanks for having us over, Tammy!
Back to the Monday grind… classes.
I got in a workout in the middle: Stairclimber (a.k.a.: never-ending staircase of doom): 38 minutes. Why such a random number? I was actually going for 45, but I only brought water and I was getting all light-headed and super tired, so I needed to step off. I am sooooo not in stairclimber shape… I need to get back on it (switching level 10 and 11 after a 10-minute warm-up… super duper owned).
Spinning: 32 minutes. Did it to Christmas music, hahaha. Pretty fun doing a speed interval to ‘Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer”.
Anyone play any instruments? (I learned the basics of guitar in the spring… and I haven’t played since then, haha. I also can play chords on the piano).
Favorite side dish? (herb-roasted red-skinned potatoes!)
