During the last couple of weeks after the marathon, I have been doing P90X.
I’ve also been doing other things with my running pals (like doing easy runs at the track and strength training):
[Thanks for the pictures from the Rancho run, Gloria]:
Easy runs, lots of weights, and THIS:
That’s right… Amy, Linh, Michael (my younger brother) and I went for a bike ride from De Anza College to Standord University! [Thanks, Linh, for all of these great pictures!]:
Michael and I are not bikers, so we did not know what we would be up against. I had it pretty easy because I used Amy’s hybrid bike, but Michael was struggling with his mountain bike when we were coming back. In any case, we made it back and we covered about 24.5 miles. Fun ride, for sure (Michael said it was fun, he just wished his bike wasn’t so heavy).
I’m trying to build some confident on a bike because I want to do a sprint triathlon one day soon 🙂
Saturday night was a dinner’n’drinks farewell thing for our friend, Robin:
He got a sweet job in Canada, and a bunch of us church peoples got together for the dinner:
And then we went to Duke’s to celebrate this big transition:
^Check out Joe’s super cute smile. You will never see him laugh or smile like that for a picture… you have to be lucky to catch one in a candid photo 😉
We had a wonderful time celebrating Pentecost at church, and then the sisters and I went to work on some important things… decorating the place where Robin would be proposing to his girlfriend!:
The decorating squad:
We were at a pho restaurant (one that the couple frequently go to), so we had to do what we could with the private room to make it look cute:
I think we did pretty good for an engagement party, yeah?
And it was a huge surprise for the bride-to-be, Michelle C.:
The proposal and everything was captured on film/in picture/with bubbles everywhere:
It was a fabulous time for everyone, and we had a lot to celebrate!
… Robin and Michelle C. are engaged! YAAAAY 😀
Oh, dudes. I was supposed to run a 50K, but due to an unexpected circumstance, I decided to postpone it to a different time. It all worked out for the best so that I could enjoy everything from the engagement party yesterday. There will be plenty of 50K’s out there!
Also… I was not conditioned for the trail AND it was like a million degrees yesterday, so I would not have enjoyed it much!
I start summer school today. Kind of excited… since I love my major and all.
Do you have summer school?
Have you been attending a lot of weddings/engagement parties/baby showers lately?
Have you ever done a triathlon event (sprint, olympic, Ironman… mini one?)?
