Things Done and Things to Come

Quick post!

I got to do an OWS practice at Cowell Beach in Santa Cruz last Friday! We practiced the loop we will be swimming for Tri Santa Cruz!

I always feel like a black ant when I wear the wetsuit and black swim cap. Anyways, it was super nice to swim there (and there were no waves that were knocking us around, so that was a nice bonus).

Afterwards, we went for a ride around the Tri Santa Cruz biking loop, and I was relieved to find that the course is relatively easy (no big hills) and I think I’m ready to go for the Tri this weekend!

On Saturday, I woke up early and had the pleasure of running a 5K with my trail friend, Sarah!

This was her first ever race, and we decided on the Brazen Summer Breeze 5K (for its flat course and cool weather).

I was a semi-pacer… this was a benchmark race, so we weren’t really sure what a good 5K pace would be. We’ll figure a specific pace for next time 🙂

Goodness, it was so exciting to see Sarah run as hard as she could and finish strong at the very end!

And her boyfriend Paul was awaiting at the finish line to celebrate her accomplishment!

Right after the race, I went over to Campbell Community Park to spectate. Our church was participating in a volleyball tournament.

I love spectating, and it was so great to watch our church members play hard out there!

I will be going down to Santa Cruz today to lead a workshop on health! Our church youth campers and counselors are there right now. I hope and pray that they are being filled and saturated with the Holy Spirit!
